It’s number 10! -Zielony Kontrabas

After the previous piano, I planned to call it a day already, and enjoy the atmosphere of the city. I decided to walk to the Jewish quarter (Kazimierz), and happened to visit a pub named Zielony Kontrabas there.

I quickly noticed a piano in the corner, and at first, decided to ignore it. But then, some guys went there to play with it, and I joined the discussion. Soon it became obvious that I just HAVE to capture that piano as well, in that exact moment. So, here it is.

This piano is wonderfully out of tune, or, if you want to put it nicely, in a honky-tonk -tuning. :)

Piano no. 9, Kurant, Kraków

The next stop was a music bookstore, coffee shop and art gallery named Kurant, located close to the main square, like the previous place.

The piano is Koch & Korselt, another new brand for me!

Wrocław, Poland, Piano number 7.

The trip to Poland was a sort of test. For the first time, I was alone with my recording/video gear, in a city I’ve never been before, trying to find a piano.

The first stop was Wrocław. After lots of running around and following hints I got along the way, I finally arrived at Art Hotel. When the friendly staff there heard about my project, they offered me a change to record wih their Grotrian-Steinweg grand.

Piano no. 6, Kabarett-Theater

I had an opportunity to record the measure number 6 at the stage in Berliner Kabarett- Theater Wühlmäuse. So, here it is!

The grand piano is Steinbach. These pianos are assembled in Japan, with parts and design from Germany, as well as from Italy and Japan.
